Back at it Again

After months of absence from this blog, I am happy to return. I realize I left it hanging with the story of Chadd's accident, but life has been interesting and demanding since then.
I am pleased to assure you that wedding planning is still taking place and is going so well!
I am even more pleased to give the update that Chadd's recovery has been blessed by God, to say the least.
Although he still has a lot of healing to do, and a lot of things to deal with as a result of the accident, he is doing much better overall than we would have expected or dared to hope.
And he will indeed be dancing at our wedding in May (Assuming I learn to dance and we actually do it).

Planning has been a blast over the past couple of months. It has also been a type of therapy for Chadd and I, to be able to look forward to the hope for our future instead of the difficulty of our situation now.
Things we've accomplished?
-I have my dress waiting for me at the bridal shop!!!
-Our venue is reserved and we couldn't be more excited about it. Our ceremony will be out on a lovely lawn next to a spacious tent, where we will have the reception.
-we've chosen an awesome local caterer. The owner of one of our favorite cafe's right in my town.
-our invitations are ordered. Speaking of which, I should go check the mail...
-we met with our florist. She is a friend of my mom's from back when my brothers and I attended homeschool group😊 she is so gifted at making beautiful arrangements!
-I am constantly on the look out for pink dresses for my bridesmaids that have yet to find one. Unfortunately, little pink is to be found in November.
-I've also been collecting burlap and lace things here and there. Today my mom and I found 2 lace tablecloths/decorating pieces at a thrift store. Score!
-and last but not least, cake.
I've been trying all sorts of recipes and flavor combinations. My mom will be making my cake, and since I enjoy baking, it's been so fun to try different ideas.

With a little over 5 months to go, we are feeling a bit ahead of ourselves. But my philosophy is, the more we have done in advance, the more attention we can pay to the details. Because it is often the little things that I notice when at an event. There's just something special about knowing that someone took the extra time and made the extra effort. I want all of our wedding guests to feel honored, because we are soooo blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people.

So that is my scatterbrained update!
Hopefully I'll be back again soon with more.
